The New plainBETA Logo - Version II

Not too long ago, I declared that a new plainBETA is coming. Well, I wasn’t lying, by I have made some major changes to both the logo, the site purpose, and the layout to come.

First: The Logo

plainBETA logo - v2

Based on suggestions by Deron Sizemore and David Airey, I have revised the logo. The old logo was rather plain and lacked color. Deron reccomended that I add some color - and that has been done with the new logo. David though, suggested that I re-consider the logo - and I’m glad I did.
Some changes to the logo that I am currently toying with are some shading inside the flame, and a 3-D look for the circle enclosing the flame.

And that launches us into plainBETA’s new purpose.
plainBETA will be about ridding the internet of poorly designed websites and spreading the flame of good web design.
By the time the new layout comes out, I’ll have some snazzy way of saying that.

Finally, the new layout.
I have had probably four different ideas on plainBETA’s new layout. I belive I have finally settled on one. I don’t want to give away too much, but it shall be white, clean, rounded, and digital. I am excited about it. (Gosh, I’m excited about everything…)

As such, I am still in the developing stages of my logo and web design. Even though I’m not going to tell y’all much about the actual layout, I would like some feedback.

Where would you like plainBETA to go?
Are there any features you would like the new design to have?
Do you have any suggestions for the new logo?

  • No matter what you say it is still The Flame in All of Us. Anyway the new logo is awesome. I don’t really care where plainbeta goes. Whatever is good.

  • I think the logo is awesome..
    Keep up good works…

  • Thanks y’all!

  • Looks great Brian. Very much improved over the last design. What do you design your logos in? Illustrator?

  • Deron: Thanks! And, I use Photoshop - but I do hope to obtain Illustrator in the near future.

  • Nice. I use Illustrator. It took me a little while to get a hang of it, but I find it much easier to design with now. The pen tool really threw me for a loop but I love the thing now that I know what I’m doing. :)

  • lol
Photoshop as a whole threw me through a loop when I first got it. For a long time I had been using PowerPoint for all of my design work.
Photoshop was quite a switch - but worth it!
