My Conclusion on BlogRush
Whooh boy - what an interesting episode BlogRush has been. In mid-september, BlogRush entered the blogging world promising many new visitors to your blog. BlogRush then had some spam issues and spam-blogs putting the widget on their site. The results were disastrous. BlogRush lost credibility for it’s links and for obtaining visitors. But even so, it had potential and I urged bloggers not to throw BlogRush out just quite yet. It had potential, but needed some refining. Then at the end of October, BlogRush launched version 2.0 with many new updates and more promises.
Being a blogger, I was interested again. The only true way to discover the truth was to try it out again - so I did.
I wanted to know for myself if BlogRush would really live up to it’s promises. It didn’t.
Since October 31st, my links were placed on BlogRush widgets across the web over 7,500 times - out of all those links I was clicked on a grand total of 5 times.
Sorry, but a click-through rate of 0.06% isn’t good enough for me.
Conclusion: BlogRush isn’t what it made it self out to be.
I am now removing the widget from my site.
Sorry BlogRush.

Yeah BlogRush never lived up to the hype. I have removed it from my blogs as well. Thanks for the update!

Yep, I agree. I’m sure you know, but I jumped on the band wagon right from the start thinking it could be the next big thing and that I could get all this traffic from it if I got in early. In the end, I didn’t like it. I saw zero traffic from it and it didn’t fit well with my blog design. I may not have given it enough time to work, but seems now from everyone’s reacting that I did make the right choice by removing it.

Blogrush makes the big blogs bigger. That’s why John Chow stuck to his guns for Blog Rush :)

I agree with you, BlogRush is terrible for getting traffic and it is too overhyped. But I like it when I’m bored, because I can just check it out to see what’s going on in the blogosphere. I found several good blogs that way.

I’ve gotten more traffic from talking about how bad it sucks than I ever got from the widget when I had it running.
It is funny how the only people talking positive about it are the big bloggers like John Chow and John Cow or little bloggers who’re posting paid reviews about it. Everyone else says that it sucks.

hey Brian,
I just had to give up on blogrush. I wasn’t seeing any results. I gave it a shot for a few months and it just didn’t seem worth it right now.
haven’t had a chance to visit your site in a few weeks. lookin’ good man, keep up the good work!

Karol: I agree. I will often glance at it. The results aren’t often the greatest, but I’ve found a gem or two that way.
Frank: Again, I agree. Of course, John Chow has over a million credits… Just think of how many visitors he gets through that… And how many times his posts are syndicated without getting clicked on…
Greg: Thanks Greg! Glad you’re still here!
