My name is Brian Purkiss and I am a blogger and web site designer for hire.

plainbeta

plainbeta is simply a blog “exploring simplicity in design.” I cover all aspects of design - be it web design or graphic design, I tackle it.

Design

Though I’ll cover just about any design related topic, I have a fascination with minimalist and grid design and will focus on them.

The ‘Why’ Behind plainbeta

But those two topics aren’t why I blog here at plainbeta. I’m a web designer and web innovator. Through plainbeta I hope to establish myself as an authority (Supposedly, I’m well on my way!) and use that leverage to gain web design jobs, launch new web sites, and (eventually) teach others about the web and design through eBooks, videos, and who knows what else.

Me - Brian Purkiss

I am an 18 year-old aspiring web designer and blogger from Texas. I have graduated from high school and will be attending college at Abilene Christian University. Right now I plan on getting a degree in advertising with a focus in graphic design. I enjoy hanging with friends, designing web sites, writing, free running, music (preferably Christian rock), and reading. I am a Christian through and through, and am excited about what the future has in store for me.
